From August 1 to 5, the hamlet of Santa Maria in La Morra celebrates its traditional Patronal Festival in honor of Our Lady of the Snows, a cherished event that brings together faith, tradition, and community.
The celebrations begin on Saturday, August 1, from 8:00 PM, with an evening dedicated to gathering, good food, and local festivities.
The highlight of the festival takes place on Wednesday, August 5, the Feast of Our Lady of the Snows. A Solemn Holy Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM, followed at 9:00 PM by the evocative candlelit procession through the village streets, illuminated by hundreds of candles and torches. The procession will be accompanied by the Gabetti Band of La Morra, whose music adds to the unique atmosphere of the celebration. The evening concludes with a short concert and refreshments.
