N° 6 – Sentiero delle grandi vigne - Visit La Morra

Distance: 8 km
Duration: 2 hours 15 minutes

DStarting from the Tourist Office, climb up to Piazza Castello, where you can enjoy a panoramic view over the great Barolo crus. Walk through a short section of the village center, passing the Municipal Cellar, the Town Hall, and the striking façade of San Martino Church. Descend along the medieval ramparts, take Via Vassalli, and continue until you reach Via Roma. Turn left, and after about 85 meters, at the intersection of three roads, turn left again toward the Fontanazza and Cerequio hamlets. The view opens up over the valley of the most prestigious Barolo vineyards.

After roughly 300 meters, turn left onto a farm track to reach Borgata Boiolo, walking for another 300 meters. After crossing the hamlet, turn right and continue toward Borgata Torriglione, passing through vineyards and a small wooded area. Turn left onto the paved road, and after about 225 meters, turn right again onto a dirt path that winds through noble vineyards, leading to the Annunziata district.

Continue along the paved road for about 270 meters, then, after passing the Church of the Santissima Annunziata, turn left toward Borgata Ciotto. Follow a mix of paved and dirt road for about 1 km, then turn left again through Borgata Tetti for approximately 350 meters until you reach the Provincial Road 236.

Turn left and climb along the paved road through the Santa Maria hamlet, home to a 19th-century church. Continue for about 800 meters on the provincial road until you reach the Red Big Bench, one of the area’s famous giant benches. From there, turn right onto a dirt path through Nebbiolo vineyards, leading to the final short paved stretch through Borgata Silio, which brings you back to the village of La Morra.
